The Salem Witch Trials was the main component in this chapter. The Salem Witch Trials and other acts of witchcraft has made a huge impact in history. The aftermath of the Salem Witch Trials created closure in the Salem community. Each woman lived a peaceful and normal life after the incidents. Betty Paris, who was one of the chief accusers, was not prosecuted or had any charges against her for accusing women(and sometimes men) of being a witch and practicing witchcraft. Samuel Paris, the Reverend, took some blame for his actions ,but he pointed most of the blame towards somebody else. When I say that he took blame for his actions, I mean that he took some of the blame for accusing people. Paris had not been a fair minister and was refused his salary many times because of his bad behavior. It became a huge problem because he was Betty Paris's father and when she began having fits, he needed someone to blame. Another important event was when Governor Phips was taken out of office. He strongly believed in witchcraft, but most believe that he knew about people being falsely accused of practicing witchcaft. The Salem Witch Trials were an important part of American History, but the most important thing is what we can learn from it. It is important to learn from the trails so we can prevent any repeats in the future. The trials can be studied in a way so that we can actually understand what happened. The trials are a good example of people experiencing hysteria when in fear. They also showed how a community can fully heal after a tragic event. The Salem Witch Trials were a tragedy, but much can be learned about them.
